LISMO
LISMO or Listen Mobile Service is KDDI au's music service that resembles Apple's iPod + iTunes business model. Using a sideloading model (no OTA downloads directly onto cellphones) LISMO consists of several building blocks: 1) au Music Port - music management software for PC; 2) LISMO Music Store - online music store; 3) au Music Player - software for music playback on cellphones. Besides buying songs from LISMO Music Store, users also can import their CD collections into au Music Port and then transfer songs onto their handsets. However, handset's au Music Player supports only HE-AAC format, so MP3 files must be converted.
